Pediatric Dentist

Affectionately known as “Dr. Mac”

My passion has always been to care for children. My love for science and medicine, coupled with my love for children, was a natural marriage. I often say I don’t go to “work”, I go to “play” because I absolutely love what I do! Being able to relate to a child on their level and helping them overcome their anxieties is very rewarding to me. To see a child transition from being extremely fearful to running in and actually love coming to the dentist is a joy to see, and it is quite rewarding to know that I played a part in turning things around for a child.

I attended the University of NC at Greensboro where I earned bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Public Health before continuing my education at the University of NC at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry.  After receiving my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from UNC,  I attended the University of Florida where I specialized in pediatric dentistry.  My advanced training allows me to provide comprehensive dental care for infants, children, and teenagers including those with special needs. I am also trained in growth and development, conscious sedation, and hospital dentistry.

I am very active in my dental community and I enjoy memberships in the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), North Carolina Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (NCAPD), North Carolina Dental Society (NCDS), Old North State Dental Society (ONSDS), and Pedo Gators just to name a few.

My time outside the office is spent vacationing with my husband, JJ and traveling with our 2 kids, Seth and Kirsten’s sports teams.
